DONATION MATCHES FROM The Oregon Lutheran Church and the national Evangelical Lutheran Church in America wish to join you in support of the amazing ministries of Casa de Belen in this time of need. Each church organization would like to match the first $10,000 of your donations, dollar for dollar, making every dollar you give become three dollars for Casa de Belen. Casa de Belen, Shelter for Homeless Teens and Homeless Families with Teens was indirectly a victim of the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College. Casa was scheduled to hold their major fundraiser for the year on October 3rd at UCC just days after the mass shooting at the college. The campus was closed and therefore their fundraiser was cancelled. It is unlikely that this event will be able to be rescheduled for a variety of reasons. Because the event was cancelled they lost non-refundable deposits and, they have printing ; advertising costs, etc. that they now have to pay for. Including the funds that they expected to raise, and the cost of the cancelled event they need to raise $30,000 in order to continue serving homeless teens in Roseburg.
